MURIEL FERN NEWTON (nee Whitney) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Muriel, on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86 years. Her passing was exactly the way she wished it to be, with dignity, grace and family at her side. She was predeceased by her brother, Calvin Whitney (1920) and her husband Louis Lynne Newton (1996). She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Newton-Horbatiuk (Terry), Sean and Shannon, son Whitney (Diane), Linnea and Kimberlee. Our hearts go out out her sister Laurel, brother Lloyd, sister-in-law Kathleen (Kay) Turner and their families. A family gathering has taken place and cremation will take place as per her wishes. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her love and humour made the world a better place. We give special thanks to Carol Robidoux (our guardian angel) and all of Moms friends and neighbours who have stood by her over the years. We thank the wonderful people in St. Boniface Hospitals ICU and Palliative Care who helped so much to ease her passing. We would also like to thank Dr. Judy Komosky for the care and compassion you gave to our mother. She was quite happy to find a doctor she was comfortable with. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Mom, we thank you and miss you!! Fair thee well until we meet again.
